Victoria Crosby, Neighbor

British born Victoria Crosby has been a resident of Glen Cove since 1984 and has been poet laureate since 1994. There are four collections of her poetry which benefit different charities.

She has a Master's degree in education from CW Post College, has taught nursery school, piano and violin lessons, been director of a summer day camp, a mentoring program,  and a summer music festival.

Victoria is the president and founder of the Glen Cove Arts Council, whose mission is to bring the arts to the youth of Glen Cove,  who otherwise may not have the opportunities,  by giving scholarships to young people who exhibit a talent and a financial need,  in art and music lessons and with visits to the theatre and museums.Since 1992 Victoria has been host and producer of a weekly radio program,  Oasis, on WHPC 90.3fm, a show for relaxation and inspiration which features soothing music and her inspirational; poetry.

Victoria is an active board member of many local charities, and frequently records PSA's on WHPC promoting their events.

In addition to her community volunteer work, Victoria is a journalist, covering the social scene, for The Leader, a North Shore Newspaper.
