recently completed another year of the Peer Resistance Instruction Drug Education (P.R.I.D.E.) program.

The program – which is designed to develop and enhance a child’s ability to lead a drug free life and to raise the students awareness of the negative aspects of substance abuse– helps to establish positive relationships between students and law enforcement.

“The PRIDE program continues to be a great success thanks to the support from Mayor Ralph Suozzi, the City Council and Sgt. Jack McDougal who is in charge of the program and constantly updates the lessons to keep them relevant for the students," said Glen Cove Police Chief William Whitton (a former PRIDE instructor).
