Connolly Fourth-Graders Visit City Hall

Kids get a question and answer session with the mayor.

Fourth-graders in Valerie Scicchitano and Erin O'Beirne's Connolly Elementary School class met mayor Ralph Suozzi this week and were given a tour of the 100-year-old City Hall.

The students got to ask Suozzi a list of prepared questions and talk about some concerns. They heard from him on some of the projects he is overseeing in Glen Cove, including the addition of new playgrounds in the city's parks.

Suozzi encouraged the students to help preserve their community's beauty, talking to them about clean water and the environment.

The class will use pictures they took of the visit in an iMovie they are putting together on the city's history.
