Students Take Medals at Career Competition
Glen Cove's Distributive Education Clubs of America wins 14 medals at state competition in Rochester.
Glen Cove High School's Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) chapter took home medals this week in categories such as marketing, advertising, sales and public speaking at the DECA state conference and competition in Rochester, N.Y.
The Glen Cove chapter president, Alison Baade, earned Outstanding Chapter Member of the Year and was inducted into the group's honor society for maintaining a high grade average and being a member for three years.
Advisor Deborah Pearsall was named Advisor of the Year. Her students nearly doubled their medal earnings since last year's competition, when they took home a total of eight.
