Singer/Songwriter Showcase & Open Mic At Page One, This Thursday, July 18th

The July edition of the Glen Cove Singer/Songwriter Showcase & Open Mic will feature three of Long Island’s most talented singer/songwriter/musicians, at Page One Restaurant, 90 School St., Thursday, June 18th.  Featured performances begin at 8, followed by the open mic.

Rick Bonilla recently released his debut CD “New York Bound.” The title song appeared on the Paradiddle Records’ Best of Long Island Music 2012 compilation. He currently performs at the Village Lanterne in Lindenhurst every Wednesday. www.facebook.com/RickBonillaMusic

Originally from Bayville, Long Island, Rorie Kelly says her life’s calling is to bring her songs around the world in her little blue Toyota, using them to inspire passion and healing in as many individuals as possible. Her songs are raw, honest snapshots of life colored by a percussive guitar style and powerful, emotive vocals. Join her for the ride this Thursday and at http://www.roriekelly.com or http://www.facebook.com/roriekelly

With a voice as powerful as it is sultry and sweet, Christine Sweeney deftly handles poppy and playful without sacrificing genuine emotion. Recently, her original tunes, such as “Book Upon My Shelf,” have been getting more radio attention, and the Long Island native has been interviewed live on air at WUSB and WCWP. Her latest iTunes and physical release, “Live at the Bitter End,” features Dave Ferro, of her band, recorded at the famous NYC music club. www.ChristineSweeney.com or www.Facebook.com/ChristineSweeneymusicOfficial

The monthly Page One Showcase features three performers in a round-robin format. Each gives a short explanation of how a song was created then performs the song.  The spotlight then shifts to the next performer and then the third.  The performers then go around again, for three more songs each.  After the featured acts, the mic is open to other performers who sign up to play that evening.
