Video: City Honors Glen Cove Seniors

The City of Glen Cove celebrated local seniors at the Fifth Annual Senior Recognition Day on Saturday.

The City of Glen Cove held its on Saturday in downtown Village Square.

Seniors and their families celebrated throughout that day with raffles, refreshments and live entertainment by the Long Island Senior Pops Orchestra and the Glen Cove Senior Center's Golden Voices Choral Group.

Mayor Ralph Suozzi presented awards on behalf of the city and the Senior Day Committee to Glen Cove residents who've contributed to the senior community.

Marge Suozzi was honored with the Lifetime Service Award.

Pat Parmalee and Linda Thompson also received Service Awards.

Mayor Suozzi and Glen Cove City Council members also honored the 15 centenarians who call Glen Cove home.

All proceeds from the day will benefit the Glen Cove Sage Foundation.
